My ideas for using blogs in the classroom are similar to those stated in class. Blogs can be helpful for teachers to post assignments and for students to have easy access to class assignments and materials. It also allows the teacher to show some personality. Pictures, designs or comics on the academic subject give students the opportunity to smile and, dare I say, mildly enjoy the educational process. If the teacher finds something on the internet (a song, video clip, article etc.) relevant to a class discussion they can post it. Students can then keep up the discussion by posting follow-up comments. Similar to the blog, a RSS Feed could allow teachers to keep up on students' blogs if that were a required assignment. This would be especially helpful for English teaching where it is more likely you would assign blog participation. Obviously, this could help teachers be efficient with their precious time.
The three RSS feeds I found include: an English teacher's blog, a reading list/forum, and a blog on ideas for English teachers (presumably another English teacher's blog).
